Reporting to the Director, Member Services Support, the Research Assistant is accountable for the compilation and analysis of operational and financial data. The Research Assistant converts the data into high-quality documents and reports, which are used to assess the organization’s performance. In order to carry out this function, the position delivers recurring reports, which are completed on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis as well as responds to specific, ad-hoc requests. The Research Assistant will also provide project assistance to priority initiatives, which may include support in developing project plans, implementation schedules and completing identified tactics under the direction of the initiative owner.
As the successful candidate, you have expertise in compiling relevant and accurate data and in creating meaningful reports. Your attention to detail and high accuracy level enables the users of these reports to rely on the information in order to make sound business decisions. You understand how to obtain data from a variety of systems, including core IT systems. You recognize the value of strong documentation and maintain complete and up to date instructions and user guides of all reports under your responsibility. You are an expert in Excel, utilizing pivot tables, exporting and importing data from multiple sources and establishing the formulas to derive correct and complete information. You embrace being a service provider to internal customers and take pride in the quality of your work and responsiveness in delivering on your commitments. You have sound judgement and can quickly detect data or information that deviate from the norm as a critical quality assurance of your work.
Education / Experience:
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in business administration, statistics, economics or mathematics.
- One (1) to three (3) years related experience in a research or data collection/reporting role.
- Expert knowledge of Excel and MS Office.
