Accounting Officer – Provincial Credit Union

Reporting to the CFO, the Accounting Officer (AO) is responsible for performing a variety of accounting and finance functions. These functions includes posting, pulling, and preparing financial reports and analysis relating to the general ledger and member account information to assist management in making prudent financial decisions.
- Maintains and completes accounting practices across a wide variety of functions including, investments, accounts payables, accounts receivables, fixed assets, loan purchases and sales, and etc. to ensure accurate and reliable data (posting, reconciliations, etc.).
- Participates in the monthly preparation and generation of credit union accounting, finance, and board reporting, including gathering and preparing data from various sources (e.g. data downloads and manual inputs); populating data into spreadsheets, ALM software and others; identifying problems, anomalies that could affect results; reconciliation with credit unions’ financial statements.
- Provides administrative support in various other finance functions, including but not limited to; competitor interest rate and product monitoring; alternate funding channels, and audit.
The successful candidate will have successfully completed a diploma in accounting plus have 3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate business acumen, a high degree of work ethic and results orientation.
