Assistant Manager, 6-month Temporary Position, East Coast Credit Union, Dartmouth

East Coast Credit Union is currently accepting applications for the 6-month temporary position of Assistant Manager in the Dartmouth Branch. This position will report directly to the Branch Manager. You will support this position by being responsible for the efficient, effective operation of the Branch’s established policies and procedures so as to contribute to the achievement of the Credit Union’s goals and objectives.  As required, this position will be responsible for the members needs in both lending and deposit products.  You will promote, up sell and cross sell the full range of products and services with emphasis on consumer loans, mortgages, lines of credit, card products, registered and non-registered investments. You will provide support and assistance to the Financial Services Representatives (Tellers) in the Branch on all operational and service issues, and will ensure the Branch portrays a professional image.

The Position:

The Assistant Manager will be responsible to:

  • Oversee provision of a full range of services (including phone and mail) to members and prospective members
  • Ensure all members receive exceptional service
  • Assume responsibility for ensuring and performing efficient, effective, and professional Branch operations
  • Make certain that all FSR functions are efficiently, accurately, and effectively performed and are in accordance with established polices and standards.  Investigate out-of-balance conditions and institute corrective procedures
  • Establish that all security procedures are followed
  • Coordinate FSR operations by assisting in assigning work and distributing workflow
  • Answer Branch Staff questions, solve problems, and assist with complex transactions and sensitive member relations problems
  • Ensure branch adherence to ECCU policies and procedures
  • Make judgments for FSRs pertaining to cashing and/or accepting cheques or drafts
  • Ensures active cross selling of products and services
  • Effectively oversees front line personnel, ensuring optimal performance
  • Provide leadership and develops personnel through effective objective setting, coaching and skill building, and communicatio
  • Backup in Branch Manager’s absence (vacation, meetings, etc.)
  • Knowledge of lending products and investment products
  • Maintain cash control to include cash orders, shipment verifications and adherence to limits
  • Other duties as assigned 

The Person:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Financial Services Representative in a Credit Union or other financial institution would be considered an asset
  • A college or University Diploma/Degree is preferred

This is a 6-month temporary position and salary will be commensurate with experience. East Coast Credit Union benefits are available for this position.
