Financial Services Officer

Teachers Plus Credit Union is currently accepting applications for the position of Financial Services Officer to provide high quality deposit, loan and mortgage support including receiving application information, adjudication, and approvals.

The Position:
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Services, the Financial Services Officer will be responsible for:

  • Conducting loan interviews with applicants
  • Analyzing applicant financial information, credit status, and asset evaluation for loan granting decision
  • Providing financial counseling including use of term deposits, RRSP’s, TFSA’s, loans, mortgages, lines of credit, credit cards, and any other credit union products
  • Presenting and explaining basic credit union products and services and cross selling on the benefits of utilizing other credit union services when in the best interest of the member
  • Compiling loan or deposit packages and present to member for signing
  • Following all established loan policies and procedures
  • Assisting and backing-up other team members and completing other duties as assigned

The Person:
The ideal  candidate will have successfully completed a post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration plus have  three to five years experience in credit and collections in a financial institution; or  an equivalent combination of training and experience in credit. The incumbent will also have:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to make sound financial decisions
  • Ability to manage their own time effectively
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of computer software and related equipment generally found in a business office
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Be a team player and have a willingness to support other members of the team when required

Compensation:
This is a full-time position  and  salary will be commensurate with experience. Teachers Plus Credit Union offers a very competitive benefits package.
