Manager, Communications and Community Impact

Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Strategy, the Manager, Communications and Community Impact is responsible to implement external communications and community impact initiatives for CUA. The Manager will lead member and public communications, proactively identifying and pursuing opportunities to reinforce CUA’s brand, product offerings and points of differentiation. In this role, the Manager will also develop and execute a media relations strategy. In the community impact responsibility, the Manager will be integral to the development of CUA’s annual Community Impact Plan. The Manager will implement the Plan accordingly, leading CUA’s Community Investment Grant Program, financial literacy programming, community events and partnership initiatives.

As the successful candidate, you are an effective storyteller and have a proven track record of superior written and verbal communications as well as presentation skills. You are experienced in proactively identifying opportunities for external communications and media management. Your project management skills enable you to seamlessly and successfully deliver a broad array of programs and initiatives, working well with individuals and businesses who are part of the delivery model. You thrive in an environment with clear goals established to meet the organization’s objectives. You have excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills as well as a strong service orientation, focused on achieving high performance standards.

Education/Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Arts (English, Communications), Public Relations or Journalism with a minimum of seven years experience in progressive communications roles.
  • Experience in media relations, profile writing, project management, program delivery and event planning.
  • Knowledge of financial / banking products and services considered as asset.
