Manager, Electragas Credit Union, Halifax, NS

Electragas Credit Union has been in business for more than 75 years.  It is a closed bond credit union serving employees of Emera, and its affiliates, as well as retirees and immediate family members. Electragas is open Monday and Thursday evenings between 5pm – 8pm.

Electragas is currently seeking a candidate to fill the position of Manager.  This position reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the overall management of the Credit Union, to providing excellent service to Credit Union members and for supervising three other staff members.

This is a part time position currently based on 40 – 50 hours monthly. The position involves working in the Credit Union Office at least one evening per week to meet with members seeking loans and other services, and responding to member requests made through phone messages, regular mail and email between regular business hours.  The primary focus of the position will be lending services with a focus on business development and growth. The incumbent will also respond to other member needs including deposits, withdrawals, enrolments, deposit transfers and tax free savings accounts.

Candidates should have strong customer service skills and enjoy working with people.  Experience in banking, investing and financial services is required for this position.  The key to success in this position will be getting to know the Credit Union members and determining how to meet their needs in a timely manner and in a way that makes their dealings with Electragas a positive experience.   Specific job duties are available upon request.
