Permanent, Full-Time Financial Services Representative, Coastal Financial Credit Union, Tusket Branch, NS

Coastal Financial Credit Union is a locally owned and operated full service financial co-operative that promotes and enhances the economic and social well being of the communities it serves. With four branch locations (Yarmouth, Tusket, Wedgeport, and West Pubnico), our focus is on meeting the banking needs of our 8000 members.

To join our team of financial services professionals, Coastal Financial Credit Union is currently accepting applications for a permanent full-time Financial Services Representative (FSR). The successful candidate will be based in the Tusket Branch however will be open to travel and/or re-assignment to other branches as required by changing business conditions within the organization.

The FSR processes and balances various financial transactions and cash drawer; provides members with a variety of services related to the promotion and sales of cash and non-cash related products and services with a high level of professionalism and accuracy; responds to member and potential member inquiries, cross-sells all credit union products; solicits new members; analyzes needs and assists members to utilize the products or services which best meets those needs; fosters business development and achieves sales goals through service excellence and product knowledge.

The FSR also investigates and resolves problems or discrepancies concerning member accounts within assigned limits; accurately completes all required paperwork, performs general office administration and works effectively in a team environment.

The Person:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Grade XII diploma, a diploma or certificate from a Post Secondary Business Program, plus up to one year’s related experience and/or training. A combination of education and experience may be considered. The incumbent will also have:

  • Proven business development and relationship management skills
  • Superior customer service skills
  • A proven ability to achieve and exceed business/sales objectives
  • A proven history of accuracy and high attention to detail (data entry, cash balancing etc…)
  • An outgoing and self motivated nature, with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven problem solving and time management/organizational skills

Individuals who are actively involved in their community may be considered an asset.

Compensation:
