Senior Financial Services Officer

Province House Credit Union, located in Halifax NS, is a full service financial institution exclusively serving members of the Provincial Government. We have assets of over $30,000,000 and a membership of approximately 3,000.  As a Credit Union we are committed to community support and involvement and providing excellent, professional service to our members.

Province House Credit Union is currently accepting applications for the full time position of Senior Financial Services Officer. You will be responsible for the member needs in both lending and deposit products.  Through business development you will promote, up sell and cross sell the full range of products and services. Emphasis will be on consumer loans, mortgages, lines of credit, card products & registered and non-registered investments. 

The Position:
The Senior Financial Services Officer will be responsible for:

  • Active business development, ensuring growth in member loans
  • Granting and administering  mortgages, consumer loans and lines of credit loans within approved lending limits
  • Marketing credit union products to provincial government employees, and promoting services that may meet member needs
  • Opening new member accounts
  • Providing financial counseling to members as required and referring members who require financial planning advice
  • Monitoring and collecting delinquent loans to negotiate payment arrangements
  • Retaining and expanding  member relationships to achieve retention, sales, service and profitability

The Person:
The successful candidate will have:

  • University degree or a minimum of 8 years experience in a financial institution
  • Minimum of 5 years consumer and mortgage  lending experience
  • Exceptional sales and service skills
  • Credit Union experience will be considered an asset

 Compensation:

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
