Atlantic Credit Unions to Provide Community College Bursaries in Four Provinces

Halifax, NS – The credit unions of Atlantic Canada individually provide over $70,000 annually in bursaries and scholarships to support student achievement throughout the region.

Collectively, we are proud to announce that Atlantic credit unions support community college students in all four provinces with a $22,000 investment in the community builders of tomorrow. Bursaries are distributed in $500 amounts to 44 students in the region. Students at the Nova Scotia Community College, New Brunswick Community College, Holland College in PEI, and College of the North Atlantic in Newfoundland and Labrador are eligible. The bursary administrator is Atlantic Central.

As co-operative financial service organizations, credit unions proudly support education and training to build effective communities, as described in the fifth principle of co-operatives.
