Official Amalgamation of Evangeline and Central Credit Unions Announced

Wellington, PEI – Ira Smith, President of the new Board of Évangéline-Central Credit Union, is pleased to announce the official amalgamation of Evangeline Credit Union and Central Credit Union effective April 1st, 2012.  Both credit unions will close their respective doors on Friday March 30th, 2012 and reopen on Monday April 2nd, 2012 as Évangéline-Central Credit Union.

As part of the amalgamation, Alfred Arsenault, General Manager of both Evangeline and Central Credit Unions, will assume the CEO position.

“Mr. Arsenault has tremendous knowledge of the financial services industry and a very deep understanding of the credit union system,” says Smith. “His leadership style has produced outstanding results for Evangeline Credit Union for many years.”

The newly amalgamated Évangéline-Central Credit Union, which will have 9,900 owners, employ 35 people and have assets under administration of approximately $115 million, is dedicated to provide you with the most effective financial services and wise financial guidance to empower you to make the best decisions for your financial well being. Évangéline-Central Credit Union currently has three branches serving Évangéline, Tyne Valley and O’Leary areas.
