Commercial Solutions Support Full Time – 6 months

Valley Credit Union, Nova Scotia, is a full-service financial institution with 7 branch locations, 62 employees, and over $280 Million in assets. Located within the Beautiful Annapolis Valley.

 Valley Credit Union has an immediate need for Commercial Solutions Support.

 This position will be based out of Valley Credit Union’s Head Office located 5682 Hwy. 1 Waterville N.S.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Commercial lending team, to provide exceptional services to our members.

Reporting to the Director of Business Solutions, the Commercial Solutions Support provides administrative and sales support to the Commercial Lending Department ensuring the credit union’s commercial loan portfolio is maintained in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities (the position):

  •  Creation of Commercial Documents in the appropriate system for member signature, in accordance with existing policy and procedures, and establishment of assignment of corresponding fees to ensure consistency across files.
  • Facilitates commercial renewal process by proactively connecting with members or their agent(s) to collect required documentation, updating applications, inputting data and fees as necessary. Performs periodic reviews of credit where more frequent monitoring may be appropriate. Coordinates efforts with Commercial team as required.
  • Provides accurate financial analysis and risk assessment of new, existing, and prospective
  • Identifies opportunities to cross sell borrowers on the benefits of utilizing other credit union services. Ensures that any missed opportunities or missing information (such as maturity dates on mortgages or deposits) are communicated to the appropriate commercial personnel.
  • Effectively uses the credit union’s customer relationship management software (IE: Know Your Member) and other related software required in the department.

Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  •  Successfully completed Grade 12 Diploma
  • One-to-Two year post-secondary business program
  • One to Three years’ experience and/ or training in a financial institution, some of which will be in small business support or a related role.
