Manager, Lending Services, New Ross Credit Union
New Ross Credit Union is seeking a Manager, Lending Services to join our team!
Working with a team of three lenders, the Manager, Lending Services will be an experienced personal lender, with knowledge and expertise in investments, including registered products. They will hold overall responsibility for the leadership and performance of the lending department of New Ross Credit Union. They will be responsible for the proactive growth, development, retention and management of the lending portfolio and for the development of new member connections, as well as, expanding existing member relationships, including, cross-selling all credit union products and services which will benefit the member and their financial goals. Commercial credit will be a key training focus of this position.
The successful candidate will:
- Proactively grow, develop and manage the lending portfolio;
- Coach, lead, and provide support and direction to the lending team, ensuring progression of staff professional development, as well as, responding to any departmental corrective actions;
- Monitor departmental progress against established goals, objectives, and budget projections;
- Adjudicate personal, and mortgage loan applications; including, those received from within the lending team that require a higher level approval above the individual lender’s established approval limit or where consideration of exceptions to loan policies may exist or specific authorization escalation may be required
- Ensure lending operations are in adherence to all New Ross Credit Union policies and procedures, as well as, any applicable legislation
- Oversee loan approval processes and review approved loans for quality and adherence to policy; address areas of concern and take corrective action where needed
- Apply sound judgement in providing exceptional financial advice on a broad range of personal banking products
- Establish and maintain strong member relationships, including anticipating member needs to provide the most appropriate product or service to meet their needs;
The successful candidate will have completed a Bachelors degree, as well as, minimum 3 years experience in personal lending; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will also have:
- excellent financial analytic skills, especially in areas managing risk
- proven ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion
- proven business development skills
- strong relationship building and communication skills
- strong organization skills and proven attention to detail and ability to exercise
