Supervisor Counter Services and Investments

iNova Credit Union is seeking a Supervisor for Counter Services and Investments to join our team. The Supervisor of Counter Services and Investments is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and scheduling activities of employees engaged in teller financial services. They are also responsible for the administration of the various investment products available through the credit union including GICs, RRSPs, RRIFs, etc.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Supervises and coordinates the activities of the Financial Services Representatives in the delivery of optimal counter services.
  • Ensures all teller transactions (cash, cheques, other forms of funds) and ATM machines are balanced and reconciled.  Assists with complex transactions and client issues. Examines Daily Transactions reports for accuracy.
  • Implements and monitors management controls including cash controls, fraud and forgery prevention and all related operational objectives.
  • Resolves complex problems and customer complaints referred by subordinates or escalates to the Branch Manager for resolution.
  • Assists and backs-up Financial Services Representatives during peak work periods.
  • Prepares investment documentation for new investments, renewals, redemptions, and transfers including GICs, RRSPs, RRIFs, Mutual Funds, etc. Prepares official receipts and notifies customers of maturing deposits and options available to them.
  • Provides administrative support including preparing correspondence and reports; maintenance of investment documentation filing system; and other general office administration

Hiring Qualifications and Experience:​​​​​​​

Some of the qualifications, which are desired for this position, include, but are not limited to:

  • Three to five years related experience and/or training in a full-service financial institution; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Well-developed knowledge of registered deposit products
  • Well-developed knowledge in Estates and Power of Attorney
  • Working knowledge of pension legislation
  • Demonstration of coaching/leadership qualities or experience is necessary
  • Proven organizational and attention to details skills
  • The ability to make well-informed, fair decisions.
  • Must be an approachable person with good employee relations skills

The probationary period for this position is three months.
