Our Community
When you belong to a credit union, you are connected to the world’s largest financial network. Credit unions are financial co-operatives. This means you are also connected to the international co-operative community — a group of over 1 billion people!
Co-operatives such as credit unions are based on the values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity and solidarity. In the tradition of their founders, co-operatives believe in the ethical values of honesty, openness, social responsibility and caring for others.
Credit unions have a history of being tightly connected to the communities they inhabit. We support charities, community development initiatives, environmental work, education, and more. Our deep roots in our co-operative values shape the decisions we make in our business every day.
Credit union members like you have supported food drives, local families who’ve lost everything in fires, capital campaigns for health centres and cultural facilities, and international appeals for disaster relief, including the Canadian Red Cross.
When you become a credit union member, you join a community of more than 270,000 credit union members, and 46 credit unions, just in the Atlantic Provinces.
We are committed to helping our communities grow and flourish by focusing on three important pillars:
· Improving Financial Inclusion & Resilience with a focus on learning, financial inclusion and entrepreneurship.
· Investing in the Sustainable Economy with a focus on sustainable business & communities, responsible investment and innovation.
· Growing the Co-operative Movement with a focus on building strong co-operatives and a robust co-operative movement.
Welcome to our community!
